Ice Experimentation
This project was based on the human body, focusing on the torso and the ribcage. I wanted to replicate the idea of decay, where the softest part of the body decays first, leaving behind the rigid bone. I used ice to act as the skin and flesh, with wire as the ribcage. With the ice melting, revealing the wire ribcage, red marks are formed on the page leaving an imprint of where the ice used to be. The ice was red as it gave it a more gruesome feel, as if it was a carcass or chunk of meat. The inside of the ice seemed to melt first, causing the block to hollow. It created these amazing landscape-like photos as if in a cave.
